That's not too surprising. While a console's lifetime is definitely longer than before, it also takes longer to develop a console. There's no such thing as "too soon" to start creating something new. There is only "too late". It's best to avoid that latter as much as possible.

I like Aarons comment, I really hate it when they arrive late.... But yeah, not that I mind cos its gnnr take longer than a year, probably more depending on the number of people working on it, the programs and hardware, etc..
