Larsa and Reddas were decent. Larsa was helpful in that he didn't get in the way. Reddas was good the whole time except when he's Berserked. Otherwise, he was alright. He was so good, I ended up taking him to Giruvegan to get Ultima. Unfortunately, another is Sazh. He's a great character, don't get me wrong, but HE'S SO PATHETICALLY WEAK! Even with a power glove, and ultimate weapon, he easily gets passed up by Snow and Fang with warrior's wristbands, with second-tier weapons.

This is something to note about FFXIII, unlike FFXII, the characters have their own specialized roles. Sazh for example isn't a damage dealing character (like Fang or Snow), he's built more strongly as a synergist. In my opinion there wasn't really any useless characters in FFXIII, but that's just me Tongue

I do have a preferred party though (Lightning, Fang and Vanille), but I do switch up Light and Vanille with Hope and Sazh on occasion. If there's anyone I didn't use it was Snow, not because he was useless, but because I couldn't stand his 'hero' business so I refused to use him xD

I also didn't use Vaan in FFXII, again pretty much for the same reason as Snow. I couldn't stand his presence, lol. Aside from the parts where I had to use Vaan, Ashe was my main party leader.

^^ Vossler was Nolan North?! I DID not know that xD. He was pretty useful along with Larsa (who's awesome healer with an unlimited supply of potion) and Reddas. As for Vaan, he was quite strong along with Basch so I kept him in my party.

Other characters I found pretty useles: Cait Sith and Amarant. Some of Amarant's skills was ok, but he was just bleh in battle.

Abe Wrote:I have to agree with Vossler... then again the same applies to all guests as they're only 2 levels ahead of your party's average and you're likely to grind a lot before they leave so you pass them so easily... and they mooch off your xp yet they don't level up and they don't cure unless you're right about to die... they suck Tongue so I'd say Vossler, Larsa, and Reddas haha

Nah I hate to disagree but Larsa did have an unlimited supply of X and Hi potions. Those do come in handy. Vosseler was good at dealing damage with his great sword so I didn't really mind that.
Um probably the guests from the new 4 heroes of light. You control them but they are practically worthless.

We're all looking for a hero in a world of villains.

Lightning, Fang, Hope, Vanille are my top party members, in descending order of usefulness. VANILLE AND HOPE FTW!

Nolan North is epic, I agree, but STILL! I initially rate characters by their place in the story, rather than usefulness in battle. For FFX, Kimahri was just BAD. He barely had any lines that were proper English, and he was too weak to use initially. He's basically a Freelancer, a character that you are REQUIRED to build a foundation for, IF you actually use him. The biggest challenge was that his Overdrives increasingly become more tedious to learn. Sure, he reveals the more obscure ways to beat superbosses, but otherwise, he is not that great. I have seen that MANY people have chosen to build him on Lulu's Sphere Grid. I, myself, sort of made him a Sage. I mainly had him use Black and White Magic of second-tier ability. For FFXII IZJS, many people I saw, had thought, if you chose to control Espers, Belias, and Zalera were too irritating to use.

Also, for some reason, even though she's fairly good character, I kept ending using Fran as lunch meat for big marks, Behemoth King, Yiazmat, etc. Whenever I battled Espers, Vaan somehow always made it onto the battlefield, when I didn't have a choice but to put him in, and won me the Esper. Also, the status effects of the -ja's never seem to hit him!
