An interesting thing to point out here is that this idea was born around the time WoW was first announced..

It doesn't surprise me that they would have thought about making it a MMO.

Disappointing. From someone who played and loved Diablo II, this is quite a big hit to what the original franchise brought to the table. I had a feeling that it would end up like WoW; and this just confirms it. Will most likely not be buying this unless Blizzard can re-ignite my flame for the Diablo series that is very well diminished.

Um, you can't buy something that doesn't exist anyway, lol. Just to clarify, Diablo III is not an MMO. Schaefer left Blizzard in 2003 and the whole MMO concept was just an idea early on during preproduction. He even says that due to the nature of the work, they probably would've gone down a different route anyways.

I repeat, Diablo III is not an MMO
