If shopto are still awesome, it should be in my possession today. I'm going to try to blast through the single player and get straight into the multiplayer by the weekend for our clan meet-up

This will be the first time I've purchased an AC game for myself and I'm looking forward to it!

Unfortunately I've got the Xbox 360 version of the game, so I won't be able to partake in any shenanigans of an assassinating nature.

Same here. I'm getting it. I have it pre ordered but I bought it on my parents debit card and I need to repay them before I can play it. Time to go debt collecting to my friends to get the money they owe me.

I have played around 7 hours-ish of it so far.

Initial thoughts -

THANK YOU Ubisoft, for adding in that tiny introductory backstory passage.
That is ALL I was asking for with the previous game!

The start of the game is very fast paced and pretty hectic. From my knowledge of previous AC games, I'm fairly certain that this pace will slow right the way down as you begin to wander around the streets taking on a billion side quests.

It felt pretty good riding a horse into Monteriggioni for the first time. Then I realised that I still hate riding horses around. It is slightly improved from the last game though. I adore being able to whistle for a horse from anywhere and have it come trotting up towards you though.

The start seems quite easy/boring. But that's probably only because I played the last game til platinum. I've now got to adjust back to the starting stages and easier missions.I can't say that I wasn't expecting it, but I hope that I can blitz through them all pretty quickly.

And my most notable part: Getting to play as Desmond in modern day Monteriggioni is SO KICKASS.


Multiplayer - I already had a taster of this, but myself and Damian had a few rounds of Wanted at the end of the evening. It's quite fun, but also really frustrating as sometimes the times you get killed seem really unfair. I don't think that it's a multiplayer that I'd get into on my own... But with friends and headsets, it'll probably shine best.

Im about 5 hours in a I found two things that made me laugh. One involved a side mission that was a flashback and the other was this. That last part may be a spoiler but I found it rather amusing. haha

I've only reached the point right after reaching the Sanctuary in Monterigionni. I love that we're given the chance to move about outside the Animus and free running with Desmond was pretty wicked. It seems a bit too obvious that they were trying to mimic the kind of banter between characters like in Uncharted though, not that it's a bad thing. I guess it's just way more obvious to me because it's Nolan North after all xD

I'm also loving the kill-chaining, it makes dispatching soldiers a whole lot quicker! I think I'm going to take my time with the single player story like I did with AC2. I'm looking forward to diving into the game again soon.

I've put in another 4/5 hours this morning... Just running around Rome, syncing viewpoints and renovating shops. I'm clearly going to have more money than I need pretty soon. Just like in the last game. However, buying the landmarks is going to be a pretty huge sink.
