I don't have an Xbox, so I haven't really played much of Gears of War. But from what I have played I really didn't think it was as good as people made out.
However, from how much I hear people go on about Gears of War, I'm not surprised that it has become fastest pre-ordered 360 game.

Didn't Killzone 2 get over 1 million pre-orders in Europe alone - 2 years ago... AND with a smaller install base than the 360 worldwide?
