Does anyone else think he looks a lot like Lt. Dan from Forrest Gump? Perhaps that was the inspiration.

In his concept art from Ultimania Guide, he looks a lot more like Aragorn aka Viggo Mortensen:

One of the things FFXIII did terribly...spoilers in white >> they had a great cast of side characters, heroes and villains, but simply shoved them out of the way as quickly as they had been introduced :\
