Why has Serah been all... You know, "Nomura'd" up (I said a different word in a Skype chat a few moments ago XD)?

I don't know why I'm buying this game but I am. XD I'm not really sure what I would want otherwise, but I'm reserving the right as a long time FF fan to be angst-y and elite about it all. Humph.

The shots look decent. I liked the battle system in FF XIII, so if it's similar, I'll be pretty happy from that perspective. I hope the rest of the game lives up to the standards of the battle system.

O_o lol Serah fights now? -shrugs- I think Nomura enjoys making people in previous games who didn't do much shine in future games by making them actually DO something. But seeing this meeting, I wonder what Snow'll think XD. but the battle system looks pretty tight. Looks more mechanical and sleekish. I have to see more of the game to actually go buy it some day but it's starting to perk my interests

And I don't really think 'Nomura'd' is the right term for Serah now, since one of the first things he said about his involvement in this game was that clothing design for old characters wasn't done by him, and maybe not for the new characters either, at least not the guy from the first trailer.

I think a fair comparison is what they did to Kairi in KH2.

The game looks exactly the same to me, only less modern/sci-fi.

hmmmm really? less modern? haha It seems a bit more high tech to me now. the battle system gauges and menus in the first game looked more liquidy and smoother but this one has little gears around the selection menu stuff so It seems more haha esp since they're fighting robot like things

It's still not nearly as high-tech looking as the first game, and I don't expect it to be considering it's set on Gran Pulse. Look at Noel and Serah, they're wearing relatively oriental/tribal outfits.

hahah my bad my bad. I guess in some ways, it's more high tech looking (they're all using what looks to me like gunblades (?)) and the battle stuff is more mecha based and sleeker. but I guess like you said, in terms of location and people (and clothes, etc), it's more traditional and tribal like the Oerbas

What's interesting is that the monsters attacking the village look more like weaponized Cocoon monsters.
