I'm wondering, with the new announcement of the NGP and its pending release later this year, I'm thinking that most if not all downloadable titles will be compatible with the device. But as we know, there is no sign of a UMD slot on the new portable.

I really want to get Dissidia 012 but I'm wondering if it will be released on the PSN for download. Has anyone heard any news concerning this? I'd much rather get it as a downloadable so I could still enjoy it if I upgrade to the NGP when it's released.

I don't see why not, the original Dissidia's there for download. Searching 'dissidia' on the PSN page actually provides a page for 012 so I think we can assume it will be downloadable

Yea I hope it is downloadable as well for the sake of the NGP...

Apparently Sony is working with publishers to make downloadable versions of their games available on the PSN, though whether it'll be a simple re-download or re-purchase is yet to be seen...I really hope it's the former though.

Yes it most likely will be and we could even see a enhanced port for NGP later on but it is probably unlikely.

Digital downloads of games are now more popular so I think it will appear on day of release or as close as it can be after release on PSN Upload day. To be honest, I don't like buying games digitally unless they're are games that are PSN/XBLA exclusive or a PS1 classic I don't have. I bought Prinny for PSP the other day, felt so empty having it without the box.

Considering it was a downloadable game in Japan, and considering the first Dissidia was downloadable over here, I'd say Duodecim will also be available from the PSN.

I think the question should be more *when* it will be released as a downloadable title.

And my guess for answer to that would be: When the NGP is released. A downloadable launch title. However, they won't announce this until a while after the UMD version is released, so they can attempt to maximise their profits from that end too.

Sony mentioned Prologus being released in Europe and North America, but they never gave a release date, although they said the demo will come out at the same time for both regions. Personally, I'm guessing this Tuesday or the next, but it's just a guess, so I could be wrong.

I'd say definately yes, like everybody else above. XD But, what I do wonder, like everybody else, is when. I've not ever been a fan of downloadable titles myself (I like the boxes) but they do seem to be quite popular now.
