Here are some of my thoughts on it:
1. upgrade to the Paradigm system makes it look more interactive than before
2. NORA is going to have a MUCH bigger role this time
3. Lightning is not in Pulse, and is now in an alternate dimension of the gods (guess we already know that one)
4. Purple hair dude from first trailer has associations with Bahamut
5. Serah is going to be the SECOND protagonist (hence, you'll see a lot more of her)
6. Snow is gone ... and Noel has taken his place
7. CAN'T WAIT FOR 13-2 !!!!! Q1 2012, most probably !!!

I'm kind of scared of the minion system with using monsters in your party. It never seems to work out well in any game I've played.

I'm also not liking seeing Action Timed Button pressing.. *shivers*

Lastly, I just realized a size issue. If FF13 had to be cut down in content to fit Xbox media, and this game is supposed to be less linear, how long will this game be? Or how much backtracking will be done to make it seem longer? I guess most of this is mute if they cut down some visuals from the start to make it more efficient with space.

I'm so negative today..

lol after seeing this trailer for like the 5th time(not all at once of course) I begin to think that Snow's expedition in the first game to save his girlfriend is forgotten seeing as he is absent while some other dude is getting closer to his girl lol. I think it'd be interesting to see Serah be controllable and her actually fighting (due to the fact that she spent most of the first game trapped in a crystal). I hope that in future trailers, they show the old gang (Snow, Hope, Sazh, etc etc)

Interesting idea I realized. Two quotes from lightning at start of this clip:
"In a world where I don't exist"
"Serah, the truth still survives but only you remember it"

The fact that no other L'Cie (SPOILER) besides Serah is being seen here shows many possibilities:
1.She, like Lightning and all the other people marked L'Cie are in alternate worlds separated.
2.All of the old L'Cie are trapped in one alternate world and Serah has to free them along with Lightning.
3.Lightning became trapped in another world and Serah ran away because she didn't want to be alone with the rest of the cast. (k last one is a joke of course)

So this explains why Snow isn't around anymore. Based on lack of mention of other characters, she may be without memories and fighting to regain them. Slowly remembering Lightning and so on. Only crack in this theory is when Lebreau yells "Lightning is dead". Though this could be out of context to pull in audience with the trailer. Serah could be helping people remember Lightning and the other L'Cie and Lebraeu could be denying her being alive because of her not being there.

Some interesting ideas, and definitely would explain a lot.

Well I don't think the timed button pressing is a bad thing. It more or less reminds me of the Mario RPGs, which did a pretty good job of them imo.

Interesting theory, i wonder if this is somehow connect with the fact that everyone on Oerba disapeared, maybe everyone in Oerba is in some alternate world too.

@ Zeruel - interesting (and freaky) ideas, it can be that Serah and Light and the other l'Cies have came to live in separate "realities" but only Serah knows the truth

flaws in this logic though is that: 1. Serah is still wearing Snow's pendent (gotta mean something? or are the directors just lazy?) 2. Cocoon, the Fanillnized version, is clearly seen in the background (or it could be that its the case in all the "realities")

@ Abe - lol almost feel sorry for the dude if that happens (almost, if he wasn't such a douch)

I posted my thoughts on Twitter but I'll say it here too. I don't have anything against Serah being playable or being involved in the battle, but I really do not agree with her outfit design. Why is she so scantily clad? Seriously, the designer needs to be slapped in the face, it doesn't fit her character at all. Maybe I'm being too picky but this new image really doesn't suit her in my opinion, lol.

Also, while everyone is so focused on Serah and Noel...I wonder how many people noticed that Lightning was having a bloody showdown with Bahamut in the trailer (Aside from North)

I thought her previous outfit was just as bad, however before it was cute also, but now it's just bad. While I prefer her previous outfit: 1.It would be worst as the new one with upshots (can already see her walk in front of the camera during combat with the giant hand), 2.The change in clothing is logical seeing as they moved from luxury in Cacoon, to harsher environment of Pulse.

As ignoring Lightning thing, I think it's just there's so much more clips of the rest, and so much of it involving combat with them. While not much is shown of lightning. Thus more speculating arises with that which has something there to speculate on.

oh god! i hope noel replaces snow HAHAHA.
the only thing im a bit worried about at this point is the music and "live trigger" (where your decisions change the game outcome) hopefully that doesnt mean like ten different endings. i like to be able to see the whole story perfectly in one playthrough, but thats just me
