Does anyone know any good animes or anime music and where to watch/get them? Currently, my anime list is in my signature. As you can see, my favorite anime right now is Dragonaut - The Resonance. My favorite and only anime song on my iPod is Perfect Blue, ironically from Dragonaut -The Resonance.

Hmmm... Doesn't seem like we have the same taste in anime... I tend to like Sci Fi more than fantasy. I also tend to like happier shows lol! But you can give some of these a try. All of them have good music:

STRONG RECOMMENDATIONS:

1. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (a mix of sci fi, fantasy, comedy, drama, romance, you name a genre and haruhi covers it XD)

2. FLCL(comedy, drama, action)

3. Cowboy Bebop( sci fi, action, drama, a little comedy) <--AMAZING MUSIC

Stuff you may want to give a try:

1.Death Note. It seems like it would be compatible with your list of animes you like. I personally don't care for Death Note, but I love the author's other series Bakuman!(which is completely different from death note)

2.Naruto. Can't go wrong with a classic! And it seems like your list could do with a bit more cheer. Naruto would be a great upbeat action anime for you.

To find where to watch pretty much ANY anime. Simply google the name of the anime followed by the word "episodes".

ex: FLCL episodes

If that doesn't work, add words like "sub", "dub", or "stream" to your search. HAPPY ANIME WATCHING!

How are Nodame Cantabile and Hetalia not cheery? The whole point of watching it is the characters being absurd and weird! I stopped watching Naruto after the first season because it bored me. But, I may think of watching it again. As for Death Note, I watched the first episode, and didn't like it. I don't watch anime that are absurdly dark and grim. I also hate absurdly cheery and bright anime like Final Approach. Final Approach is easily the worst anime ever, given that it is too cheery and has more nudity than I'd care to see.

Then everything I recommended with the exception of Death Note fits that bill! Big Grin

And Naruto takes a bit time to really kick in. The second season is really where things heat up. Around episode 20 is where it starts. It's probably not for everyone. If you can't get into it with the second season then it's not for you.

I've just finished catching up with Bleach- it's really good as long as you skip out the filler episodes (of which there are many) and I'd highly recommend it. The openings and endings also include some good music for you to enjoy

Has no image til he resizes his flaming squirrel lol!!

2. Death Note - Dark, Mind Games
3. Neon Genesis Evangelion - Semi Dark, Save the World, Mecha, Sci-Fi
4. Code Geass - Drama, Action, Suspense, Mind Games
5. When Cicadas Cry - Horror, Graphic, Mind Games
6. Kanon - Romance, Comedy, Slice of Life
7. Air TV - Romance, Slice of Life
8. Midori No Hibi Days - Romance, Comedy, Slice of Life
9. Dennou Coil - Sci-Fi, Comedy, Slice of Life
10.Scrapped Princess - Action, Comedy, Some Romance

Won't post links for download as most forums disallow for obvious reasons (and I don't advocate that). Alternatively a great source for buying them is rightstuf.com or Amazon.com.

Also for some good music, one of my favorites is Serenite from Rurutia-Primary. Think it was the theme for Karas.

My recommendations:

1. Cowbow Bebop
Already mentioned above, but I cannot stress enough how awesome this series is. If you haven't exposed yourself to this anime, find an excuse to do so. And the soundtrack, again already noted, is kickass.

2. Toppa Tengen Gurren Lagann
When it comes to over-the-top mecha anime that doesn't shy at taking opportunities to poke fun at itself, Gurren Lagann is a hell of a great series, easy to get into (only 27 episodes), and funny to boot. Easily one of my favorite anime to date.

3. Samurai Champloo
Both the director and music composer from Cowboy Bebop return in this off-beat re-imagining of feudal Japan in the Edo period, a tale of two skilled ronin forced to escort a young girl in a quest to seek out a "samurai who smells of sunflowers". Not as good as Cowboy Bebop, but one of the better crafted anime out there.

4. Shinchan
An irreverent quirky comedy of a perverted boy may raise eyebrows for many, but damn my eyes if this doesn't busy a gut in one way or another. Some of the jokes have been re-written in the English-dubbed version to be more relevant to Western audiences, but nonetheless, a blast to watch.

5. Outlaw Star
One of the more unsung cult classics of the genre, Outlaw Star is a fun sci-fi anime with a likeable cast. Things get a little far-fetched and confusing by the end of the anime, but otherwise, nothing much to complain about it.
