all joking: I'd be really glad if Snow was ditched by Serah lol suit his cockiness

seriously though: he's probably still in the game, just not taking as big a role as before

From what I've seen, Serah still wears her engagement pendant so I don't think that their relationship is over xD And if it is over between them then I swear I will facepalm.

All your points are quite valid, but it's also possible that something may happen in the game that may cause Serah to distance herself from Snow. Like if Snow actually believes Lightning is dead, and he doesn't approve of her going out to look for, "something that isn't there anymore." It's totally possible, because if the latter occurs, Serah will think Snow is a really horrible person to think that. I personally didn't like Snow, because he's trying to be the hero, when he's just being annoying. However, this most likely will not happen. @fozzie: There is such thing as being too big-hearted... Because if you are, you may come off more obnoxious or irksome than chivalrous. Also, I do think that there may be some relationship between Noel and Serah, maybe platonic or maybe not. However, whichever happens, I think there will be some conflict between Noel and Snow. I'm betting that Snow doesn't trust Noel to travel with his fianceƩ while he's not there, so that he can make a move on her.

Why does everyone think that Snow is cocky? o.0

He has an optimistic, do-god attitude that he fails to follow through on in multiple instances. He believes in doing what's right until the end... That's not arrogance. That's just determinism. Especially in the face of adversity.

Don't get me wrong. I don't like his character much (but on reflection, he might be one of my favourites from the whole bunch of characters I didn't like much), but I don't understand people's reactions to him in that particular way.

Anyway. Serah & Snow breaking up wouldn't make sense. Serah trapsing around the world without Snow also doesn't make sense really.

But this is Square Enix we're talking about. It doesn't need to make sense anymore (a wafer thin flimsy reasoning seems to be all they feel is necessary to support any narrative they want to go with these days).

I personally didn't have any problem with Snow. Still don't understand why people are so critical of him. I honestly would probably see him being even stronger of a character had they stuck with the whole resistance group story being built up.

As for XIII-2, I hope they don't just dismiss his character completely. As I've said before, this would hurt the game for me if they treated their own story with such lack of care. I figure 2 scenarios:

1.After 13, many people joined NORA to make a big organization to help people recover and move to Pulse. Snow is off somewhere distant, leading a branch, working on the recovery/migration.
2.My earlier prediction that all the FF13 l'cie are in alternate dimensions.

Hopefully more information will come soon.

The reason people think he's cocky is that he comes on very presumptuous about everything, and Lightning disapproves of his attitude. Personally, he's not a bad character... It's that he tries to cover up what he's really thinking, and also the way he tries to plan everything out. I despise his straightforward thinking. Unlike Lightning or Hope, he doesn't immediately notice the flaws in his plans. Lightning almost constantly points out those flaws. Especially when she asks Snow what he's going to do when he finds a way to de-crystallize Serah. He doesn't know how to respond. It was exactly the same moment as when in FFX Pops is asking what Tidus will do when he rescues Yuna. However, Tidus and Snow are different. Tidus is not trying to be the hero for everyone. That is one of the key differences between Snow and Tidus.

@Highwinddeath : so... having ideas on how to solve a problem is a bad thing?.. At least he's thinking. Who cares of Lightning always finds flaws.. she's always going to find flaws because that's just her character. I know because my grandfather is the same way.

@Astharis : Thank you. I agree with you whole-heartedly. I don't think Snow is cocky. He's a brainstormer. Problem solver. Or atleast he attempts to be.

No, the reason people think he's cocky is because they themselves are very narrow minded and presumptuous about everything.

It's quite easy to see that Snow just wants to look out for everyone. There's nothing cocky about that, he's just caring. The more the game goes on, the more you can see that he's just a good guy, not an arrogant or cocky one. How he deals with Hope throughout just shows his character. Hope's hate towards him doesn't stop him attempting to protect him. If he were this arrogant and cocky guy people claim him to be, he'd have tried to turn it back on hope and acted like it was his fault, or attempted to pass the buck. He did neither of those things.

It's also ironic that you highlight Lightning and Hope as good examples too, as almost everything they do specifically revolves around themselves. They're extremely selfish and rarely have anything positive or constructive to say. If anything, Lightning is the arrogant one. She believes she knows best, even though she rarely has a plan and often doesn't even know what she's doing.

Perhaps arrogant is not the word I'm looking for, and I never directly said he was arrogant. Lightning is not being intentionally selfish. She just doesn't trust anyone else to protect her sister. Moreover, she blames Snow for what happened to Serah. Hope on the other, wants revenge. Revenge is inherently a selfish thing. Lightning's way of thinking is different from Snow's in that she often knows what she's getting into, and acknowledges the obstacles first. In other words, Lightning, more often than not, looks before she leaps. Snow, on the other hand, leaps in headfirst not caring about the consequences. While he's driven by his love, it's still recklessness. If Snow and Lightning's combat tactics existed in the same mindset, the person would be an excellent strategist.

OK, Snow is not bad. I just don't like people who are trying to take everything unto themselves. Hope points this out, and says that is the reason his mother died (which is not in the slightest true). Snow is also selfish, in that respect, in a rather esoteric manner. He acts like he's the only one who's fighting for Serah, which is untrue. He acts like he's the only one that cares, and made the mistake of saying Lightning is fighting for herself. Snow makes himself feel like he's alone in the battle, and no one's going to help him, because everyone's fighting for a different reason. I felt throughout the game he was beating up on himself too much, acting like he's alone. That is why I did not like him.
