playing FF 11 or 14 a good idea? Y'know I'm getting really interested in them so which one should I try? 11 is supposed to be hard but I know my computer can run it. 14 not so sure, but no matter how bad it is right now, the f2p is enticing

I would ask you some questions, before you decide for or against playing either:

Are you currently playing other MMO's at the moment?
I don't know about you, but I have a hard enough time dedicating time to a single MMO, and the idea of juggling two or more MMO's is just daunting to me. So it's safe to say that if you're already actively playing one MMO, tackling another MMO should be discouraged, unless you think you can spin all those plates on the sticks.

Do you have friends that already play FF XI or XIV?
I often find if none of my friends plays an MMO, it's usually not as fun. Granted, you can make friends online, but there's always something great about having somebody you personally know to make the level grinding more enjoyable, and somebody you can trust not to abandon a dungeon half-way through.

If it's broke...why play it?
While XI had it's fans and enjoyable a strong subscriber base, XIV's been plagued with so many problems that Square has since it's launch been handing out free game time to pissed off gamers. It's gone off to a rocky start, and from what I've heard, it's hardly worth the investment. But please do not let that discourage you from trying it yourself. Sometimes you have to step into the lake before you realize it's too cold to swim.

Well after hearing how un-noob friendly XI is, I went out and bought 14. Installing it now...just hope my pc can run it at least on low...
