Hm...

1. Saving Private Ryan...for obvious reasons as it was a very good depiction of war and had a story that drew people in.

2. We Were Soldiers...One of my favorites in terms of Vietnam War depictions.

3. Platoon...Charlie Sheen in a war movie...what more do I have to say?...

4. Red Cliff Part 1&2...Very good Asian film depicting the Battle of Red Cliff. Very artistic and really, who doesn't want to see some martial arts killing?...XD

5. The Hurt Locker...Just very different and very good...

The Patriot - Great movie about family and war.
Braveheart - Who doesn't like watching Scotsman fight?
Saving Private Ryan - Great depiction of the battle field and value of a life
Lord of the Rings - Best Medieval War you can find.
Last Samurai - Hey, I'm a samurai nut.

I'd put Battle Royale in there, but.. not sure if that fits(haha). I really want to see Hurt Locker.

Haha, that's about all 300 was about was war. No objections here. I was about to add it myself, but I like to have a little more substance to my movies than just amazing (very amazing) visuals. So 300 for me is my 6th if it was a top 10.
