I had a feeling something like this would happen, with the 3DS not getting great sales and the PSV looming with that $250 price point...Nintendo has to make their console more competitive...

Sweetness! This might push me to actually buying it. One problem, am I reading this wrong? Wouldn't a 20k to 15k yen be a 25% cut? Still awesome.

If it's really 40%, if that carried over, that would be $149.99US for 3DS *drool*. But if it's 25%, it would probably get a $189.99US tag.

On another note, this is why competition is great. Vita definitely pushed this move in a substantial way. I'm just curious to see if Vita responds, or if they feel their features still warrant almost 100 bucks more.. because when people see those two price tags side by side, it will sway buys of Vita (Even though most people that like Vita's slew of features won't be detoured). Moms and Dads buying for kids like lower numbers. Curious to know your guys' views on that.

They could cut it to $149.99 but that is really asking for a lot, so I'm guessing that they might cut it $50 maybe, I don't really know.

Doesn't make a difference to me, since I'm still gonna get Vita no matter what. Just not a fan of Nintendo handheld anymore.

However low the price is, people still aren't going to buy it with the current games line-up. It's not going to be made any better by the fact that one of their main appeals was Metal Gear Solid 3D which is delayed.
