At least they said sorry, I cannot think of many other gaming companies that would do the same thing.

Sony, being this classy might've saved you a lot of problems over the last five years or so. Just saying.

They also should have apologized for the crappy release line up. All the games that are going to be coming out at the end of this year should have been the release titles.

I don't know if it is just me, but it seems that a lot of companies have been walking away from the 3DS, as more and more games have been canned for the system, from Mega Man Legends 3 to Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy.

Agreed. Then I may have bought it.

But as for making it up to early buyers, I think they would be closer to that goal by offering up their money rather than just giving away downloads of rehashed titles that costs them figuratively nothing. But I know some here disagree with me on that.

I was a fan of the Nintendo portable consoles in the Gameboy years but recently I just don't see the point of playing the 3DS.

It just doesn't seem that the 3DS is the future of gaming, but just a continuation of Nintendo's history.

The release line-up did have a lot to be desired. But early adopters like myself knew what we were getting into when we bought the system. We (those who bought it) obviously thought it was worth buying when it came out or we wouldn't have bought it. Games take time to develop and they come when they are ready. If you're suggesting Nintendo should have pushed the system launch to 2012, then I would probably agree. I'm guessing they thought they had enough to go on to build momentum and get some word of mouth going, but turns out, they were wrong.

Sure there's a culture difference being outside of Japan, but we saw an apology from Kaz Hirai et al in the aftermath of the PSN debacle and now this, I just don't really see these apologies making any great difference to anyone. I may be wrong though, so feel free to enlighten me.
