This is good news, i hope the trend will continue with all games, downloads SHOULD be cheaper as technically you are buying less.

Can't say i agree on the prices though, portable games will not sell at the same price as home console games.

Still, $50 for a portable is still a tad bit expensive. I was hoping for a price at around 30, and I would understand if they went 40 (near the 3DS games price range), but 50? Just a tad bit high. And if you go digital, it should be moderately less. I'm not sure how I feel about this news...

I personally feel that 50 dollars is a reasonable price point considering the scope of a game. The games rival those of the ps3. The 3DS's games have been pretty scaled back, if you ask me. A few dollars more for a game that's likely to be of much higher quality is a fair trade, if you ask me.

Besides, I'm thinking that most people will be opting to buy the downloaded version, anyway. It's easier to buy games online, cheaper, and reduces the number of games to carry around with you. In terms of trading games in, this new system will also reduce the amount of money you could get for your traded in vita game, (PSN pass + competing with the lower 40 dollar price point) so people won't be as inclined to buy the physical copy.

If I were to own a vita, I'd go download only.

That kind of price point could ruin the Vita if Sony decide to enforce it outside of Japan too. Japanese games are expensive in any case, so hopefully they will be reasonably priced here.
As for the downloadable versions being less, I suppose I am for that. It makes sense seeing as Sony are trying to promote digital downloading all round.
