There's a difference between being able to get something and actually getting something. I'm fairly certain very few people will actually want to buy FFXIV on the ps3 by then. People will have either lost interest, or already gotten it on the PC.

Heck, even if they released it on ps3 now, few people would get it.

MMOs on a console platform just breaks my brain. For me, the whole draw of MMO is the social interactive side of it, and if you're playing on PS3, there's a distinct lack of keyboard to type into (as standard, I know you can buy add ons or get a USB keyboard).

Maybe I'm just being ignorant (if so someone please correct me), but are there actually any console based MMOs that rival PC ones (in popularity or install base)?

Well, Final Fantasy XI on PS2 and Xbox 360 was actually quite successful - people went the extra mile.

Playing FFXIV on PS3 sure makes more sense than it did to play FFXI on PS2. XD

Outside of XI though, there's really nothing else. DC Universe? Uhh...can't think of any others lol.

Anyway, why wouldn't FFXIV be relevant in 2013? XI is still relevant today. It's an MMO and so long as SE have secured long-term plans, it's going to be around for quite a while.

It's fantastic to see Square working so hard to make this game better. It shows how determined they are to push out quality products.

I mean, I gave on FFXIV fairly quickly. But I'm tempted to get the PS3 version when it releases.
