I have been a Leafs fan as long as I can remember, I even have the 2003-2004 mini puck collection that took me a while to collect when I was 11. I believe I'm one of the biggest Leafs fan. I have never seen the Leafs won the Stanley Cup before, the last time the Leafs won the Stanley Cup was during the 1966-1967 season. That is over 44 years of the leafs not winning the honor of being the best team in the league of that season.

There is a reason for this is what fans call the Toronto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup Curse(there is an official name but I it escapes me). Basically if I remember after the Leafs won the Stanley cup in 1967 a body was discovered in 1968; the body in question was the body of a team member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. When the coach of the TML heard about this he quit coaching the Leafs and cursed the team(he had a good relationship with the dead player apparently). 44 years later the Leafs haven't won one Stanley Cup since then.

In the current NHL season the Leafs are doing really good, earlier this week they were ranked # 1 in the league(#3 currently). I wonder if this is the year the Cup comes back into Canada(the last time a Canadian Team won the Cup was in 1993). Could this be the year for the Toronto Maples Leafs to bring back the cup back to Ontario.

Coming from one deprived fan to another.. it's bound to happen.. They can't suck year after year.. eventually everything comes together for a magical season.. Except for Chicago Cubs.. they will forever suck...
