Sony and Nintendo already provide phenomenal content, I don't see why that would change if they stopped making consoles. They'll just need a viable platform. Who's to say they won't adopt OnLive's streaming model in the future?

Well, this is the first I've heard of the Nintendo PlayStation, but if Wikipedia is anything to go by, it looks like it totally bombed in development.

actually, it's a funny story (personally, one of my favorites within the pages of VG history). Sony decided to cut all ties with Nintendo and just create a system all their own. This led to Sony going into the console end of the industry in the 5th Generation, and Nintendo a fierce competitor. I think it actually worked well in the long run, as both the PS1 and the N64 were great systems.

I remember reading something about it being "the key source for the creation of the PlayStation", but didn't realise it was what led to Sony making the PlayStation in the first place!
This is a good example of that "you learn something knew every day" saying.

Since when was Sony, Xbox, and Nintendo not making money? Did someone let another ignorant person speak when he wasn't supposed to? Unless a company is hurting, none of this matters.

All I can figure is UKIE is upset that these companies don't mesh well with what they wants to do with their company.
