On the other hand every single 40/40 Famitsu has given have been great games.

tbf, they do mean a bit less now as they've given out more and more, but ultimately, getting a 40/40 is a big effing deal. Esp since it means 4 different people have to give it a 10/10.

I keep on forgetting that this game is just around the corner. Always good to remember that a perfect score doesn't mean a perfect game.

Didn't Famitsu also give Final Fantasy 13 a 39/40. Don't know if one point will make a difference for me.

Well...no matter what Famitsu says, FFXIII-2 WILL NOT be my perfect game, that's where XIII is for me, but that doesn't mean that I won't enjoy this one, it just means that I won't have the same love for it as I did for XIII, and until they do the same thing that they did with XIII, I don't think even Versus will take that place TBH, but that's just my opinion XP

While I think Famitsu is way loose with 40/40s, I will say this reassures me a little of how this title will be. It's first review besides Square employees saying "this game is great!"

Yeah, unless it's a Western game. Then you'd have to be frakin' Skyrim to break their domestic bias.

What did XIII do that XIII-2 isn't going to be able to do?

BTW Dengeki XIII-2 review came too, they gave it S...the highest grade rank possible.

Even if famitsu likes to give out generous scores, this does bode well for the title. The fact that it is higher than XIII's score is a plus as well.
