Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Receives Favourable Famitsu Review
PS3 X360 0 CommentsLightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII has received a favourable review by premium Japanese publication, Famitsu, as Square Enix gears up for the title's launch.
The game is due to release on the 21st of November, 2013 in Japan and it is the third part of the Final Fantasy XIII micro-series. It sees the end of Lightning's story and while familiar faces will be returning, it will focus on her as the main character.
The four Famitsu reviewers ended up with a score of 37/40, with two reviewers giving it a Perfect 10, with the others scoring it 9 and 8. Despite the promising score, it does mean that Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is the lowest scoring game in the trilogy. Final Fantasy XIII received a 39/40, while Final Fantasy XIII-2 received a perfect 40/40.
The reviewers pointed out that the battle system was "extremely entertaining", but can prove difficult if you don't pay attention to weaknesses. This is akin to Final Fantasy XIII's paradigm shift system, where split-second decisions were crucial to victory.
In the West, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is due to release in the middle of February 2014. To be specific it'll release on the 11th of February, 2014 in North America and the 14th of February in Europe. comments powered by Disqus
