It seems that Alan Wake, Microsoft's new spooky adventure game, will be following in the footsteps of EA in an attempt to stop up used game sales a little more. With games like Bad Company 2 and Mass Effect 2 having a new game VIP code for free content, Alan Wake will also be including a code in its new copies of the game that are also one time use only.
Microsoft reports that this code included in the game will allow free access to the first add-on content for the game, dubbed "The Bright Falls Bonus Pack," which will be a charged expansion to those who purchase the game as a previously played title.
The pricing for the add-on content hasn't been priced yet, and it's not entirely confirmed whether the code will also work with further add-ons, but chances are the expansion will cost around ten dollars, such as the EA strategy. Hopefully this will be a decent value and actually count toward multiple downloadable titles in the future. Alan Wake will be releasing on May 18 for Xbox 360, so more details should be soon to follow.
