It's almost summer time, and downloadable titles have become pretty infamous around this time. One of the titles that have been announced that will be falling into this area is AQUA, which is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. Coming out of a Slovak studio by the name of Games Distillery, AQUA is a top down two-stick shooter involving ship to ship combat. Bearing a sort of steampunk aesthetic and high action with multiple enemy encounters, AQUA is aiming to please fans of the two stick shooter while adding a new look and appeal to the genre.
Games Distillery is also promising a more story driven game experience, with comic style sections laced between levels. Juergen Reusswig, CEO of Games Distillery, had this to say on the story experience of the game, "With AQUA, we want to take the genre of dual-stick arcade shooters an evolutionary step forward and deliver a story driven gaming experience on the vanguard of audiovisual quality compared to available arcade titles."
With two-stick shooters being fairly popular in the downloadable space, it'll be nice to see a new take on the genre, as long as it holds enough action and excitement as games like Geometry Wars and Everyday Shooter. Having a story that's interesting will also be a nice touch, as long as they can pull it off.
