Xbox Live shoppers in the US tired of purchasing points in 500 increments only to have useless points left over are now in luck. Xbox Live has announced that points will now be available in 400 point increments, which means players can buy item that cost 400 points without having 100 points sitting in their account until there are enough leftovers to buy something else.

Unfortunately, this system is only in the US, leaving all other countries with the 500 point increment system. A representative from Microsoft told IncGamers, "We are offering Microsoft Points in increments of 400 on Xbox LIVE in the US only, and we have nothing further to announce at this time."

So as it stands, players outside of the US will have to hold on to their odds and ends to buy something worthwhile. Either that or buy avatar gear, but if that's the case, you're part of the problem. Get out.
