Epic Games CEO, Mike Capps, has told Edge Magazine that piracy has been the cause of many of their games, including Gears of War 3, being console exclusive. After seeing so much piracy and the effects, Epic hasn't released a PC game since Unreal Tournament 3.
Capps doesn't have any hatred toward making PC games but the piracy has completely changed the idea of releasing games on the PC as a model for making any money. Capps stated, "We still do PC, we love the PC, but we already saw the impact of piracy: it killed a lot of great independent developers and completely changed our business model."
So it looks like there won't be any PC ports of anything coming out of Epic Games within at least the next few years, though there may be a slight hope. It seems odd not to have unreal tournament on a PC, but if this trend with piracy continues, that may just become the case, as is seems to have begun anyway. But hey, at least there's still Steam.
