According to Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, Ghost Recon: Future soldier will be pushed from its release window of late 2010, to a march 2011 release date. According to Guillemot, this is due to a "very competitive environment".
Seems like this trend of moving holiday games back to first quarter is coming back again this year. Chances are because titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops are coming out in the same initial time frame, and Future soldier can't hold it's own against such massive unit sellers.
The good news with a delay is that there will hopefully be more production time allotted to the team working on Future Soldier. The beta for Ghost Recon: Future soldier is still set to release sometime this summer to those holding codes that came with Splinter Cell: Conviction, so players can still get a taste before the game comes out early next year.
