According to a recent interview with Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital, Gran Turismo 5 is still at around 90 percent completion. This is odd considering Yamauchi said that the game was at the same stage of completion four months ago in January.
In an interview with Inside Line this month, Yamauchi stated, "Gran Turismo is about 90 percent finished, there are currently around 140 people working on the project." Yamauchi also stated the game was at its 90 percent completion point in an interview with USA Today back in January.
One thing added in the newest interview was that there were certain aspect of the game that Yamauchi couldn't fit into Gran Truismo 5. This could mean that the reason Gran Turismo 5 is stuck in a perpetual 90 percent completion is that there are a lot of last minute additions to the title.
The big question is what this means for a release date. Initially, speculation lead to a release sometime this summer, but due to recent news of the game's production, it's beginning to look more and more like a late fall release. Hopefully there will be a few more details coming soon. This anticipation is killing me.
