Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, has guaranteed that Nintendo's upcoming 3DS handheld will see a release by March of 2011. This release was also announced to be worldwide by the same point, which means everyone will be able to pick up a 3DS by Spring of 2011.
Fils-Aime also stated that the 3DS design revealed at last week's E3 press conference may not be the final design and is only currently in concept. "You know typically, at an E3, our engineers are looking for feedback. You know, we have an army of Nintendo representatives out on our show floor talking to attendees, getting reactions to everything in the device: the depth slider, the buttons, the sliding pad that is, essentially, an analog-type stick. These are things that we're looking to get reaction to, including the overall button placement. When we get all that feedback, then we'll finalize the design," Reggie told IndustryGamers.
This design choice is also the most likely reason as to why the price has not been released yet to any markets. Fils-Aime did say that the price will vary depending on each region's market. Though the price may vary a bit, we will probably see a similarly priced unit worldwide.
