Nintendo have announced that they will shortly be reducing the price of the Nintendo DSi in Japan by 21 percent. This is the first time that Nintendo will have cut the price in that region and it's believed the move has been taken to counteract dwindling sales.
The system will now retail for 15,000 Yen ($164) and to follow suit, the DSi LL (DSi XL in the West), will also have its price cut by 10 percent. That will now retail for 18,000 Yen.
Nintendo also hope that this move will help to offset declining sales of its other platform, the Wii, until they can introduce their new peripheral, the Vitality Sensor, and their next handheld console, currently dubbed the 3DS.
