THQ have revealed that the recently announced Red Faction: Armageddon will be hitting store shelves on March 2011 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Developed by Volition, Armageddon "expands on the critically acclaimed franchise with new, groundbreaking challenges."
According to THQ, Armageddon will leverage "Volition's groundbreaking Geo-Mod 2.0 technology, [and] offer never-before-seen physics-based weaponry that redefines gameplay in the shooter genre." Considering the quality of last year's Red Faction: Guerrilla, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
"Players are presented with a wealth of new strategic options including reconstruction technology and the Magnet Gun in their battle to save humanity. From lava tubes to ice caves, gamers will discover a new playground for epic battles in both the single-player campaign and multiplayer co-operative modes," the company said.
We should learn a lot more about this hotly anticipated game at E3 next week, stay tuned.
