Epic's let loose some details on Gears of War 3 at the San Diego Comic-Con. The panel included Gears' in-charge Cliff Bleszinski, writer Karen Traviss as well as the voice acting crew.

First off, Bernie Mataki of the novels will be making her debut appearance in Gears of War 3. Not much else was said about it, but Epic's sure to reveal even more as development nears it's final phase. The panel also confirmed that Claudia Black, of Uncharted 2 and Stargate SG-1 fame, will be voicing Sam Byrne, one of the more prominent female leads alongside Anya Stroud.

Epic went on to clarify that the local splitscreen coop mode will be limited to only two players while four player coop only applies to online.

The panel also discussed a bit about the Gears of War movie, which Bleszinski notes they'll be taking their time on.

"What we had on paper looked something like 2012 (the movie), which would have taken an enormous budget, and would people go see something with people getting chainsawed in half and doesn't have Will Smith's kid starring in it," said Bleszinski."These things take a while, and we're going to make something awesome."

The game's due April 5 in North America and on April 8 in Europe only for the Xbox 360.
