When Dead Space was originally released, it caught a few people by surprise. The good kind of surprise though, as it turned out to be a success both critically and commercially for Visceral Games and EA.
Bearing that in mind, at GamesCom 2010 when we got a chance to speak to Steve Papoutsis, the executive producer on Dead Space 2, and we asked if they had been given more creative freedom second time around.
"Nobody's ever told us not to do anything. It's actually been really awesome, as far as what we do with the game," he said.
That's certainly good news, hopefully they can create an even more intense experience for Dead Space 2.
