Late last week Square Enix put up a teaser website for a new SaGa game on the Japanese branch of their website. The lack of any hints made many wonder if the game would be a another remake similar to SaGa 2 or a brand-new game in the series. Thanks to a leak of the latest issue of Famitsu, we now know what the game is.
The SaGa series has been widely known for its non-linear and sometimes non-conventional gameplay. While widely popular in Japan, the series's clear break from the JRPG norms Square Enix is known for has garnered critical reviews and a lack of sales in the West.
The game is another remake, this time of SaGa 3 for the original Game Boy, also known as Final Fantasy Legend 3 in the West. The graphics look similar to the SaGa 2 remake, and the game will keep the system from the original game which altered the character depending on what they eat.
No word on the game's release date, as the scan is too blurry to make out.
