Major Nelson has just announced via his person blog, that Microsoft's Kinect peripheral has managed to sell 2.5 million units worldwide since it launched.
Earlier, Microsoft predicted it would sell 5 milion units this year, an increase from their original 3 million estimate.
"We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect, and are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand," said Don Mattrick.
It'll certainly be interesting to see if Microsoft can attain that 5 million mark with only a few weeks left.
