Monster Hunter Portable 3rd released last week in Japan, and it was the biggest Monster Hunter release in the franchise' history. Not just that though, it caused sales of the PlayStation Portable to go through the roof.

Last week, Sony managed to sell 75,689 units of their system. This week, that figure was raised significantly to a whopping 326,639.

The Monster Hunter Portable 3rd limited edition PSP bundle obviously helped matters, but it's still a tremendous achievement for Sony. At least the PSP is still going strong in one of its key regions.
