Bethesda has already revealed a few details about how Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will feature a more advanced combat system, that will be both more realistic and brutal. But Todd Howard has now taken the time to expand on things a bit further.
For example, there will be a two-handed combat system which will allow you to equip and weapon or spell to either hand - or a two-handed weapon. There will then be load-outs so you can quickly switch between different setups.
There will be lots of weapon types, and you will be able to specialise in them - unlocking different traits and attributes. The example Howard gave was with the axe, which will get residual bleeding on targets that are struck.
It sounds like they're really trying to bring Skyrim up to date with the rest of the genre and that can only be good for the franchise.
