Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood appears to have claimed the best video game writing award from the Writers Guild of America. Other nominees included, God of War III, Fallout: New Vegas, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Singularity and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II - how did that last one get in there?

The award for best video game writing was awarded to Ubisoft's Patrice Desilets, Jeffrey Yohalem and Corey May for the game's story, while Jeffrey Yohalem, Ethan Petty, Nicholas Grimwood and Matt Turner were credited for the game's script writing.

Previous award winners were Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Uncharted 2. Only WGA members and writers credited for the script are nominated, just in case you're wondering why your favourite game didn't win best writing.
