Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy, the follow up to the Square Enix brawler title for the PSP, may be the last Dissidia Final Fantasy title as we know it. According to Andriasang, Tetsuya Nomura told Dengeki magazine that the Dissidia series ends with Duodecim, pointing out that the team feels that they've done everything they can with the battle mechanics while noting that the next game, if there is one, may be something entirely different.
"I'd like to have the staff make a different genre," he said. In addition, Duodecim will not see any international of Universal Tuning re-releases since both the Japanese and Western release dates are so close together.
On another note, Nomura mentions that he cannot currently speak on the topic of the NGP. Although producer Yoshinori Kitase was in attendance at Sony's PlayStation Meeting event this past January, pointing out that Sony had actively asked for developer feedback when developing the NGP.
Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy hits stores on March 22 in North America and March 25 in Europe for the PSP.
