Earlier this week, Namco Bandai announced that Tales of Graces f would be coming to North America and the publisher's European branch commented that a release over there was uncertain. According to an interview with Siliconera, the publisher has one group in particular to mention for helping to bring the title over.
Presumptively at the recent Namco Bandai press event in California this Wednesday, Siliconera got to talk to Makoto Iwai, Bandai Label President about the game, and he has this to say:
"There is a strong existing fanbase. The buzz became too big to ignore, in a sense. Our company's new theme and challenge is how to embrace community. It's been a challenge for the JRPG in the US market. As long as they are loyal to this title, why don't we embrace them? That's a starting point."
This is quite an interesting change for the publisher, which had been faced with numerous issues after a more Western push last year, with titles such as Enslaved selling much less than the publisher had hoped for.
Tales of Graces f is set for a 2011 release in North America. According to the interview they didn't clarify the platform, which is rumored to be PS3-only, so theories about a Wii port are still up in the air.
