The Nintendo 3DS launched today in Japan, and Japanese news publication Nikkei are reporting that the initial shipment has already sold out across the entire country.
Nintendo previously announced that they plan to ship 1.5 million units of the Nintendo 3DS in Japan by the end of March. However, they only allotted 400,000 units for the launch day.
Many retailers sold out quite quickly and already opened up pre-orders for the next batch of Nintendo 3DS consoles. Some Shibuya-based retailers were expecting more shipments tomorrow.
