Dynasty Warriors 7 has managed to snag the top spot on Japanese charts Media Create. The hack n' slasher was released exclusively on the PS3 last week, doling out a hefty 253, 090 units upon its debut, approximately 70,000 more units than the previous game.

Square Enix's Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy remains in second place with 64,996 units sold, down from last week's 351,113 units.

As for hardware, the Nintendo 3DS remains number one, although it has dropped from last week's 209,623 to just below 100,000 units sold. It's followed by the PSP and PS3 in second and third place respectively.

While Dynasty Warriors 7 is a PS3 exclusive in Japan, it will release on both PS3 and Xbox 360 when it hits the West on March 29 and April 8, in North America and Europe, respectively.
