As if we aren't dreading enough error messages in the current generation of consoles, Nintendo has added one more to the bandwagon. Its abbreviated term has been dubbed 'BSOD', but it isn't blue like the Windows version, it's instead the "Black Screen of Death."

The message informs that "An error has occured" and instructs on how to reset the console. If the problem persists, it notifies the user to contact the local customer support centre, check the operations manual or visit the Nintendo support website.

NeoGAF members have been reporting that they are encountering this message across a number of games. A few games to mention are Super Monkey Ball 3D, Super Street Fighter IV 3D and Ghost Recon.
