Nintendo of America's front man, Reggie Fils-Aime, has hinted in an interview with Gamasutra, that in order to extend the lifespan of the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo would have to drop the price of the console.
"The Wii has a long life in front of it", said Reggie. "We're still sitting at $199. There are a variety of marketing tools at our disposal."
This comes after EA went on to hint that the Wii 2 isn't too far away. Satoru Iwata, the boss of Nintendo said earlier this month that they will come up with a decision for the Wii's successor once developers have run out of inventive ideas for the Wii.
