Nintendo of America has stated, via their CEO Reggie Fils-Aime, that the successor to the Nintendo Wii is unlikely to feature any kind of 3D technology.
Speaking with CNN during the launch of the Nintendo 3DS, Fils-Aime said: "Glasses-free is a big deal. We've not said publicly what the next thing for us will be in the home console space, but based on what we've learned on 3D, likely, that won't be it."
It has been rumoured that Nintendo will announce the successor to the Nintendo Wii at this year's E3. It wouldn't certainly make for an interesting event if they detail two new consoles in two years.
