After two games in the classical Wild West setting, Ubisoft and Techland decided to move the third installment into the modern day, with Call of Juarez: The Cartel. They won't discount going back to the classical Wild West with future titles though.
When speaking to us recently, Samuel Jacques, a producer from Ubisoft who's overseeing development said "Honestly, I don't know if there will be a new Call of Juarez game after this one, we have to finish it first. But I don't think we will be forced to stay in the modern setting. We could move back to the classical Wild West."
"It really depends on the success of this one, whether the players like it," he added.
Call of Juarez: The Cartel promises to showcase how alive the Wild West is in modern day society, and it certainly makes for an interesting story. Check out our recent eyes-on preview to find out more.
