Square Enix has declared that the development of Dragon Quest X is going well and that we should expect to hear more information about the game towards the end of the year.
Speaking to Nintendo Power, Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii said: "All we can say is that development is going well and we're on the last parts of the game.
"We can't really share much else at this point, but by the end of this year we should be able to announce something regarding it," he went on to say.
Square Enix made the decision to develop the game for the Nintendo Wi in 2008, when the console was booming. Since then though, the PlayStation 3 has become much more dominant in Japan, with the Wii declining. Bearing that in mind, Horii's justification for putting the game on the Wii isn't the best:
"I feel that some users will want to play Dragon Quest on the big screen, which is why we are working toward releasing it on Wii."
Hopefully his statements mean that we'll hear more about the game at this year's Tokyo Game Show, or even Jump Festa. But it doesn't look like we'll be seeing this before 2012.
