NIS America have announced two new anime titles for their Summer 2011 lineup! Both Katanagatari and Arakawa Under The Bridge will be brought West-side by July this year.
Katanagatari is a story set in ancient Japan and tells the tale of swordsman Shichiki and the beautiful Togame as they journey across Japan in search for the final twelve swords forged by a legendary master swordsmith.
Arakawa Under The Bridge is a sweet rom-com about a boy saved from drowning by girl named Nino. Indepted to her, he vows to repay her by helping her on her quest to "experience love." It's a good comedy with plenty of laughs to be had with the various residents of the Arakawa River.
Both titles will receive NIS America's usual Premium Edition treatment, which will ship with the DVDs, an art book and bonus content like interviews, commentary and clean open/closing themes, all encased within a hard collector's box.
This is particularly good news for fans of Nisio Isin's works, which include the likes of Bakemonogatari and Kizumonogatari in addition to Katanagatari. Personally, I'm a huge fan of Bakemonogatari and would love to see that localized.
We'll contact NIS America about the possibilities of that.
