In an attempt to thwart off any potential damage, Sony is working hard to keep the PlayStation Network up for all of their gamers around the world.

Sony recently came under attack by hacker group Anonymous, who targeted Sony's various online properties. Yesterday, Sony.com and PlayStation.com were taken down, although they're both back up now. The PlayStation Network also had intermittent coverage, with Sony saying it was undergoing "sporadic maintenance."

An official statement has now been made by Patrick Seybold, who acts as the leading PR voice for SCEA. He said on the US PlayStation Blog:

"We're aware that some of you have been experiencing intermittent service on PSN today. We're working on finding a solution, and will report back here as soon as it's resolved. Thank you for your patience"

Since they were able to get their web properties back up so quickly, it's hopeful that Sony will be able to do the same with the PlayStation Network.
