The PlayStation Network went down earlier today for some emergency maintenance in all regions around the world, and Sony has now made a proper statement about what's actually going on and have stated that it could be days before it's back up again.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony said: "While we are investigating the cause of the Network outage, we wanted to alert you that it may be a full day or two before we're able to get the service completely back up and running."
They went on to thank everyone for their continued patience, but it's not like many users have any say in the matter. It couldn't have come at a worse time either, with many high-profile games being released today.
