Team Bondi has revealed that L.A. Noire was originally planned to release on five or six DVDs for the Xbox 360, before they managed to cut it down to just three.
"We've always been called stupidly ambitious," said the game's director, Brendan McNamara. "It took a lot of effort to get down to three discs - I think we were on four or five or six at one point - and to get it onto one Blu-ray."
According to McNamara, the Xbox 360 version had to go through some "miraculous compression" in order to squeeze it down to three DVDs, although the PS3 version remains much the same.
The game has just been released in North America, with a European release late this week.
